After the 5-0 win the Sri Lanka series in the absence of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav & Mohammad Shami. BCCI announces the squad for the Australia series as Umesh Yadav & Mohammad Shami selected while spin duo Ashwin & Jadeja not included in to the squad. As Ashwin currently playing in county so his absence was expected but all rounder Jadeja’s omission was big news of the day.
Jadeja’s poor performance in Champions Trophy 2017 & West Indies series cost Jadeja as he omitted from the ODI squad. As Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel & Yazuvendra Chahal bowl really well in last series against Sri Lanka. Also Kuldeep Yadav bowl really well in West Indies series so for the preparation of 2019 World Cup BCCI want to chance to these young guns after their impressive performance.
By the addition of Shami & Yadav that strengthen the bowling attack but it will be interesting that who will get chance in final 11 where Bumrah & Bhuvneshwar Kumar already their in team. Also it will be important that will KL Rahul get chance in team or Ajinkya Rahane will play in place of Rahul in team. Only Shardul Thakur dropped from the squad that played in Sri Lanka series. ODI series will start on 17 September in Chennai. Before the first ODI Australia will play warm up match against Board Prsident XI in Chennai on 12 September.
