One of the big things of this world cup qualifier is two times champions (1975 & 1979) & the one-time runner-up (1983) West Indies team will also the part of qualifier. But this time it will not easy for West Indies to qualify for the main round because Afghanistan, Zimbabwe & Ireland played good cricket in last few months so if they want to qualify for main round West Indies should play their best cricket.
Group A
West Indies: From last 5-6 years two times champions West Indies struggled in the ODI as well as Test cricket. In that period they won T20 World Cup twice (2012 & 2016) but their ODI performance was below par. In that period they changed their captain for 5-6 times also most of the experience players are out of the team they prefer only franchise league & T20 internationals due to this their performance wasn’t good because of that they are part of qualifiers. It won’t be easy for West Indies to qualify. In warm-up game against Afghanistan they bowled out for 110 while chasing 164 and in 2nd warm-up game against young UAE team they bowled out for just 115. So their batsman’s was the main reason behind their failure in last few years. West Indian batting mainly depend on experience Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels and young Evin Lewis, Shai Hope while Kemar Roach, Nikita Miller & captain Jason Holder will take care of bowling department.
